Face-Match & ID-Flex Verification

ID-Flex is an optional, free government-ID verification powered by Didit. It adds an extra identity check to your profile and signals that a member is who they present themselves to be.

Face-Match Verification

Face-Match helps keep VeriDates real and bot-free. It compares a live camera check with your main profile photo. A successful result means the person using the account matched that photo at the time of the check. The result stays private; other members see only the Face-Match badge.

If you replace your main photo, the new photo stays staged until it passes a fresh Face-Match check. The previous main photo remains active until then.

ID-Flex Verification

ID-Flex adds a government-ID check and a live face check through Didit. Once confirmed, ID-Flex Verified becomes the stronger verification badge shown on the member's profile.

The provider must return an approved, signed result before VeriDates awards the badge. We do not award it merely because someone returns to the app or completes an unfinished flow.

What happens when a main photo changes

A changed main photo does not silently inherit the old Face-Match result. VeriDates requires a new Face-Match against the replacement photo before it becomes active. A completed ID-Flex record remains attached to the account, and the stronger badge returns after that fresh Face-Match passes. Deleting the account removes the account-linked verification records described in our deletion policy.

Data minimization

VeriDates configures the identity provider to return only the verification status, warnings, and technical workflow information needed to operate the badge. We do not request the returned government-ID image, document video, portrait image, selfie capture, full address, document number, personal number, date of birth, or other identity fields from that provider.

VeriDates retains the verification outcome, provider/session reference, and timing information needed for account security, dispute handling, and fraud prevention. Availability and choices

ID-Flex is optional. Face-Match and ID-Flex are separate verification signals. We may change availability, supported documents, or safeguards as the service develops. For account, privacy, or verification questions, contact contact@veridatesapp.com.
